Thomas Antony

Dr. Thomas Antony is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst-Doctoral in the USA and a Registered Psychologist in New Zealand.  He has extensive clinical experience working with clients/students and their families in New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, India and the USA. He has worked as a university lecturer in India for 13 years, as an autism consultant/lead therapist for Alakai Na Keiki in Hawaii, USA for 6 years and as a psychologist for the New Zealand Ministry of Education, Special Education for 6 years.

Thomas has developed seminars, workshops and short courses in the area of Autism spectrum disorders, Aspergers syndrome, Evidence-based strategies in the management of autism and Aspergers syndrome, Cognitive fitness and Critical thinking, Introduction to ABA for parents and educators, Basics of Emotional Intelligence, Functional Behaviour Assessment and Enhancing Emotional intelligence – a way to improve relationships at work. He has offered these seminars/professional development workshops for the University of Waikato, (Tauranga and Hamilton), New Zealand Ministry of Education, Special Education (Hamilton), Bay of Plenty District Health Board (Rotorua), Sri Ramachandra University (Chennai, India) and Help University College (Malaysia).

Thomas has been involved in community support and empowerment activities and he is the founder of “Aspergers connections” (a community/parent support group) in Hamilton and Tauranga in New Zealand.

Thomas has presented research papers and clinical case studies in national and international conferences in New Zealand, Sweden, USA, India, and Malaysia and has received academic fellowships/scholarships from Australia, Canada, Denmark and the USA. He has been a visiting professor at the department of clinical psychology at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. Thomas has travelled and visited more than 40 countries and aspires to be a world citizen.
